Time…where does it go? We can all remember when we were small children without a care in the world. Our biggest worry was what we were going to do when school got out, would Dad play catch with me when he came home from work, what Mom was fixing for supper, and what we were getting for our birthday or Christmas. Next, we can’t wait for the teen years, getting a car, and keeping gas in the car! Eighteen rolls around and we’re all grown up, or so we think. After that is college or finding a job. Twenty-one and being a “legal” adult is followed by finding the love of our life, getting married, having kids and buying a house. Then we watch the whole process begin again with our own kids.
Time…what a precious commodity. Are we taking time to raise our children in the nurture and admonition of the Lord? Are we taking time to speak that kind word to the one who needs it? Are we taking the time to tell the good news that Jesus saves? Are we taking the time to thank God for all the blessings we have in this world and all we have in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ? Let us all take advantage of the time God has given us. Remember that, “For you are a mist that appears for a little time and vanishes.” James 4:14.
